what difference does it make? If you don't want to be in contact with someone "old", then ignore them. Why would it be creepy for a 50 yr old to be on myspace anyway? There are other reasons for being on there besides finding someone to "hook up" with. Maybe there are people trying to contact friends from collage and high school...maybe some are trying to promote their business. (like the bands...they're not all a bunch of cutsie little teeny boppers ya know) Maybe some people can't get out of the house for medical reasons are they're looking for someone to talk to.
Sheesh...how shallow can you be?

Well I am well over any of the ages mentioned and I have a myspace account. I even use it occasionally to talk to other friends. It is a bit disturbing that you would assume that an older person could not use myspace without some sort of devious intent. That is just perpetuating the myth that myspace is not safe. I tell parents to open their own accounts all the time in order for them to understand how their kids can use myspace safely.

Well, I'm 31 and I have a MySpace. I mostly just use it to put my favorite musical artists or actors on my friend list. I don't talk to anyone on there. However, I do have a few friends on my MySpace friend list who are also on my Yahoo 360 friend list. And I have some friends on there who are fellow Orlando Bloom fans. That's about it though. I use my Yahoo 360 page more than I use my MySpace page.
I agree with RaeRae about taking offense to the 30yr+ comments.

How do you really know how old anyone is on my space just cause they know the (LOL, and the MOYB) and so forth. Some people are nice and just want to talk others are perverts and act like they should be on Americas hidden camera shows! Is there a way to tell with the amount of information given out by some of the "younger" people on there is seems easy to attract perverts and 'unusual people'. Think about that when you post a message or communication out there to the world.

I should think 30 would be a reasonable outside limit. The site is known to be most of interest to teenagers and even younger kids. An adult who can find something in it other than being proud of what your child or grandchild has done to make a "cool site," is admittedly suspect.
It's about learning web design and how to make smart use of the Internet for people young enough that it also functions as a sort-of dating service. And I seriously do hope they are all taking proper precautions about meeting in a public place, with a chaperon, etc. Yes, it matters. Ask your local police safety expert if it matters. Their docket is full of horror stories.

Actually age is just a number. Alot of older people have young souls...I don't think there is an age limit for anybody these days to be on the internet...just follow your gut...

Lots of people with "real" websites use a myspace site as a community device to draw traffic to their real sites.
Plus it's free, and old people are cheap.

Less than 6 years old is creepy smart.
6-14 is age appropriate.
15-18 means it's time to start getting a life.
19-25 is a little pathetic but not creepy.
26-29 is very pathetic.
30-65 is CREEPY.
66-79 is kind of spunky.
80+ is adorable.
In time, I too will be adorable.
