I'm European and of course I know your country. I've had some great sulguni cheese and fig jam made in Georgia. I hear the wine is good too. Also, recently I was impressed with a young figure skater with a really long name- Gadevanishvili or sth similar. That girl has a bright future!

Yes, I studied the USSR history in school because my teacher was Russian American.
Georgia is known for having some of the oldest people (100 years and older) in the world from healthy lifestyle (food, environment, etc.) I learned about the Tartars. I was taught that most of the former Soviet states despise the Russians.
Sadly, many Americans are not very educated about the world outside of the USA.
New York has a large Ukrainian population. They even have their own museum! I've also met New Yorkers who immigrated from Kazakhstan.

I have heard of your country but have never been there. I have tasted Georgian tea, however, and loved it. Several years ago, I was visiting Estonia with a theatre company, and several people served us Georgian tea. I liked it very well and asked what kind it was; that's when I found out where it was from. Unfortunately, I can't get it in the USA.
