For Putt, some games cost a monthly fee, so you HAVE to pay per month, since it is an online game. And this question is a lot easier than you think. Let's put it in terms of basic mathematics.

Say you play games a lot. Now, I'm talking about at least 10 hours a week. If you're in high school and bored, it's probably even more. Generally speaking, if a game isn't an RPG, it will last, generally speaking, about 20 hours before you have to replay it. Now, a lot of people will get bored with it, and stop after a few hours. That's 50 dollars for 20 hours.

Now, online games can cost 30-50 dollars, plus the extra monthly fee. You think it's a bad deal, but it really depends on how much you play. Consider that the first month is usually free. Now, for instance, say you play 10 hours a week the second month, you are getting about 40 hours of gameplay for only 15 dollars. And that's on the low end. Many people will play the game for far longer than 10 hours a week, some will even put in 10 hours sessions on particular DAYS.

Then, you have to look at the benefits of the game. Unlike other games, you have human interaction. While there isn't as much contact as you'd have with a person in real life, you still get to talk to real people and see different viewpoints on many aspects, as well as just games being more fun generally when you can play with another person. Plus, the game gives you a great sense of accomplishment when you actually do something good, because other people can notice it and you usually have to put some time in to get it.

So it really comes down to how much you play the game. If you play for only a few hours a month, it surely won't seem worth it. If, however, it is one of the only games you play, and have plenty of free time, then it is well worth the cost of 15 dollars per month, because you get much more gameplay than that of a normal game.

Have you played it? If not, give it a shot. And then come back and try asking that question again. If yes, then I am sorry I guess that is not yer kind of hobby. That is basically, what it is a hobby. also, instead of buying games that u pay once for, which have maybe 20 hrs play time before you might beat it or whatever, it gets boring. This kind of game (WoW in particular), continues to expand and there is ALWAYS something to do.

Plus, come on, whats $15 a month? LOL... you think $15 a month will send you to college? it might get you a summer session (one class) at the most. Surely you spend $15 on other things, rather than "saving" for your education.

I agree the games that you play that you have to pay for are a complete waist of hard earned money there are many other great online games for free such as ....

Runescape for instance a typical alright online game that is free and can be payed for monthly but the graphics are not very good

Another choice would be a game i've been playing recently FLYFF a game with excellent graphics , free and awesome pvp dueling arenas.

If you just want a good game with killing and shooting that doesnt take so long to sign up for and all the good names are'nt takin i'd suggest stick dueling arena.

But one thing i know i would'nt do is sit my but on a computer all day long paying for a game that i will get bored of in a matter of months.

It's Not worth it because you can just play or download free games on line even though you can't carry that around but still it's a waste of money

It's really up to that person. If they really like that game and get their money's worth and it is in their budget than yes. But if they are not going to 1/2 play the game; get bored with it or really don't have the money to spare, than it's not worth it. I pay for final fantasy for my daughter to play on-line..she loves it. So as long as she loves it-I will pay it. It's up to the individual.

I can spend it because i have it to spend. You sound like a Pennie pincher to me, you can't take it with you so learn to live a little. My children are still years away from going to collage and they have lots of money in bonds for their school, and i have my own home although small it is mine, so if i want to spend some cheese on a game its my choice.

The thing you have to remember is that gamers are wired differently from the rest of us. While some people chose to spend their spare cash on other recreational things, like movies and beer, gamers spend it on games. I'm not saying it's worth it, but it's their hobby. You spend money on your hobby, right?
