That is very common. My 6 month old get a fever with all his shots. Just keep your baby comfortable and keep giving him tylenol and motrin, alternating, it attacks the fever in different ways. Good luck!

Yes. With the immunization shot baby gets a small amount of the bacteria that would in large amounts cause the disease the shot is trying to prevent. Therefore the body is fighting that disease to build up the immunity against the bacteria, therefore baby is having a fever.
Give baby some infant tylenol or similar. If the fever gets too high (more than about 102) I'd go to Urgent Care.
With the Tylenol make sure you get the one for INFANTS and try to find one that ONLY treats fever and maybe contains a pain reducer. Baby doesn't need a cough supressant and those kind of things. At that age baby also wouldn't need the artifical flavoring and coloring. But good luck finding one without!

Yes and it is normal to ask this question as well. My son just had his four month shots last friday and he got such a high fever.. but I did not expect it so I did bot prevent it or know what to do. He would not eat for almost 12 hours and was miserable... on the verge of being dehydrated... I brought him to the ER at four in the morning and they told me that because babies temp can go up so rapidly it is VERY important to give them baby Tylenol about every four hours.. do not exceed 5 doses per 24 hours and because the infant Tylenol is so concentrated make sure you only give them 0.4ml for your babies age. keep an eye on it though because the doc told me that babies can go into seizure...not anything too serious, but we all know we dont want to see our babies reach that point so take care and good luck... this is just the beginning! Also you can look on Tylenol.com and they will tell you the dose amount in accordance to your babies weight. These questions are good though it shows that you are a good parent. Dont worry it is normal!

Are you asking if it's OK that your son has a fever after getting his two-month shots?
Or are you asking if, since your son has a fever, they will give him his two-month shots?
The answer to the first one is yes, it's common to run a low grade fever after immunization.
The answer to the second is no, doctors usually will not give vaccinations to children who are currently exhibiting signs of illness.

I always give Tylenol right before the shot and every 4 hours after that the first day. Give baby a kiss for me!

It's been awhile, but I remember two of my 3 boys use to run low grade fevers after their shots. They never got bad, but like the others stated if it get too high or if you are concerned call the dr. or take the wee one back in.

It's nomal for a baby to get that sort of reaction. If it gets too high (101+) call the doc. Just give him/her tylenol for the fever and soreness, he/she should be fine within a day or two.

It is very common. Ice the injection site. Give him/her Tylenol, and call the doctor if the fever goes over 101.5.
