Probably, but it would depend on if it was the beginning, middle or ending of it too. You could put in a fresh tampon before, when you are getting ready. To be doubly sure of yourself, wear a black swimsuit which is tight fitting, to be able to wear a fresh pad also. It will be snug and secure and won't move. Over the swimsuit, wear some loose fitting black shorts, (like a skirt or skorts). Over that, put on the white garment or sheet, wrapped well about you. Get someone to help you get ready. Some girls have a fear of getting wet when on their periods, but you will be fine. How would you go out in the rain, or take showers or baths? Getting wet or submerged won't hurt you, just make sure you have a change of fresh napkins and tampons as soon as you come out and get dressed.
