It depends on who you are and your age.
From birth to about 15 years old you have cake and ice cream and gifts
16 to 20 you have cake and ice cream and gifts at home and then go try to find someone to buy beer and try to get drunk and laid.
21 to about 55 you go to the clubs and get drunk and try to get laid.
Over 55 you have cake and ice cream and gifts at home and then go mow your lawn to get away from it all because it is driveing you crazy to put up with a house full of people every damn year on your birthday when you just want to be left alone.
I guess about the same as in any other country..

A birthday cake, presents, and a bunch of friends to party with... we also order pizza...

Yuo have a party and invite friends and family.You have good food and cake and you give that person gifts
