I am a barber currently renting a booth, I am interested in owning my own shop. I have chosen to rent out a property but the problem is that it may not be "commercially zoned". I just need to know how to or who to talk to about commercially zoning this property so that I may work in "my own shop". I deeply appreciate it. Thank you.

Go to the zoning board and request a zoning variance. You may have to bribe the zoning board members to get one. That is the normal proceedure.

It will help your cause greatly if you do some background research on other variances that were issued and the reason they were issued. Also if other commercial property is in the vacinity.

Do not go before the board without doing your homework first.
