Definitely Final Fantasy 7
The graphics may not be as good as the newer versions but it has a great story line and characters, it has a great main villain Sepheroth.It has a great main character Cloud much better than the newer version final fantasy characters.
In the new games the graphics are great but the characters move around and talk like idiots if i had to play a final fantasy game over and over for ther rest of my life i would definatley pick final fantasy 7.
My second choice would be final fantasy 9 i think that has a great story line also and is about the same length as final fantasy 7, i also enjoy the card game that you can play on the 9 version.
In the end my choice would definitley have to be final fantasy 7. =]

I would have to say Final Fantasy 7. I've also played 9 and X, but to me, they are not as good. 7 may be and old one but it held my interest more. I completed the game in 2 weeks. Took much longer for 9 and X.

out of all the games, there are a few gems, and a few games that barely reach 'above par'
for the good games, you need to go with final fantasy IV and VI.
these games not only paved the way for the next games in the series (i.e. - final fantasy VII's copy of the magic system from VI), but they actually had good story lines, unlike VII, VIII, and X
for the mediocre games, games that are now staples of the series, but could not stand alone on their own, you'd have to go with titles like VII and X

Final Fantasy on the NES. Without it there would be no others in the series

X first, then X-2 On playstation (one) I like VIII and IX the best.
Right now, I am working my way slowly and painfully through Final Fantasy. The first one!

my Deff fav is 7 great story line great gameplay
ff8 is cool cus it has better graphics and a great story as well i just didnt like the card mini games i kept losing my cards

i like ffvii, the storyline is nice
ffviii and ffx for its fmv (so cool), i haven't look at ffvii:doc but heard that its fmv were like ffvii:ac quality
