What happens to you is not nearly as important as what matters to you!
Except, that what matters to you is often a result of what has happened to you.

If circumstance changes what matters to us then why should anything matter ? What I value is very important and I cannot allow circumstances to change that.Maybe it would be wise to be realistic to the things that matter. And I don't know if you want to hear this, but. It's a very good idea to make God something that matters most. Thanks for the 2 points

What happens to you is what will make you or break who you are. So either way what happens to you will eventually have an effect on what matters to you wether in a good way or bad. It really isnt a matter of wanting to change what matters to you but eventually it will change wether you want it too or not.

What matters to you is constantly changing all over the years. Quite another thing is making happen what matters to you. And also sometimes happens that nothing matters to you but it does'nt matter, what matters to you?

You probably don't need to change what matters to you, just to recognize it. Some people look for a long time before determining what they stand for.
Spend some time with yourself and run the ideas thru your mind and determine what matters to you.

The Serenity Prayer
God,
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change, Courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference!
