I was told Estelle Getty died. I have not seen anything on tv or heard anything. I haven't seen anything on the internet about her dying.

I think she was dead when the golden girls was made.
Maude just had her arm shoved up her azz and was working her like a puppet.

Estelle(correct spelling) Getty is one of the most loved t.v moms that appeared on a sitcom. She appeared on 5 sitcoms as Sophia Spirelli Petroilli Weinstein: They were as follows:
Golden Girls(1985)
Empty Nest(1988)
Nurses & Blossom (1991)
Mrs. Getty was born in New York on July./25./1925. She is still with us as of today.
She does not make any appearences in public anymore ,as she is suffering from Lewy Body Dementia the second most common form of dementia, which carries with it hallucinatios, as well as all opther dementia signs of degeration of the brain functions.
I wiil always remember her as MA to Dorothy in The Golden Girls(A Fantastic Show)
The movie I enjoyed with her in it was "Stop! Or My Mother Will Shoot" (1992) with Sylvestor Stalone. {A great comedy.}

Well is she did, nothing has been reported yet - I just checked her official web site, nothing there. They're still doing a countdown to her 84th birthday. If true, it must have been recent, and something should be posted there soon. I hope it's not true; she's a geat lady.

I don't think so, but she was diagnosed with dementia a few months ago and wasn't able to be in the Golden Girls reunion show.

there was an interview, with i believe betty white and she said how she visits her in a nursing home. she has Alzheimer's.
