Messenger will say it is connecting and act as though it is, but never does.

No. Messenger is working fine for me. And since you're obviously on a Yahoo! site, Yahoo! isn't down.

The provider in your area may be having a problem with Yahoo site. I would just keep trying until it comes back up. Only other thing would be to uninstall it and then reinstall.

Your ISP might be down. I was typing an Answer tonight and poof, suddenly I had no Internet. I grumbled, took a hot shower, and when I sat my fanny back down on the computer chair and looked at the monitor, there it was, I was back in business.

Try rebooting the computer and then see if messenger will connect.

u have a blocker on . and yes yahoo is down, and u cant post , cant write , cant message and cant search.
