Yeah...volunteer force is a euphemism for "draft on the poor".
Politicians are good at sending other people's kids to their death, but good at keeping their own out of harms way. Isn't this how Bush Sr. kept lil' George out of Viet Nam?

Forget about their children. Bush and Cheney used their social position and influence to avoid, or find alternatives, to forthrightly serving their country.
Hence, the have rightly been labeled ‘Chickenhawks’.
Chickenhawk (also chicken hawk and chicken-hawk) is a political epithet used in the United States to criticize a politician, bureaucrat, or commentator who strongly supports a war or other military action, but has never personally been in a war, especially if that person is perceived to have actively avoided military service when of draft age.

Politicians have attacked people as unamerican for not supporting wars? Who? Bush calls them patriots. Not to mention, kids don't go to war. Adults do. They make their own decisions.

Can you see the two Bush airhead as soldiers? They would grow up fast, wouldn't they?
But I guess the apples will not fall far from the tree when it comes to military service

They are smart enough to keep their kids out of harms way, especially when the mission is doubtful. GWB was similarly protected.
Of course that shelter wouldn't work today.
