You could have a lot of things going on - the one that comes uppermost to my mind is that you might have an underactive thyroid. Go to your doctor and let them examine you so that you can have all possibilities ruled out. If it is your thyroid this can be easily fixed and then you will be just like everyone else.

Dear Periodless,

Amenorrhea ("a" means without and "menorrhea" means menstrual flow) is the medical term for this condition. Since you have missed over three consecutive periods, make an appointment with your health care provider. The assumption is that you have already made sure that you are not pregnant, which is the main reason women stop menstruating. Other common reasons include weight loss, hormonal changes, strenuous exercise, and a change in one's environment (this has also been referred to as "boarding school" syndrome), and even the eating disorder anorexia.

After going off the pill, your body may take some time to adjust to secreting its own hormones that regulate ovulation and your period. If it takes more than six months for your period to return, a visit to your health care provider is recommended. If the cause of your amenorrhea is due to low estrogen levels, vaginal dryness and a loss of bone density can result (for example, among highly competitive athletes in physically demanding sports). Athletes, regardless of their excellent diet and exercise programs, have lost significant bone mass when their periods stopped.
I would make an appointment with your doctor.

In general, yes. But you need to get checked out by a good medical professional and get some blood tests done to find out what is holding up your cycle. It could be that you don't weigh enough. It could be a medical condition. Anyway, good luck to you, and do report back to let us know how you are doing.

Are you on Depo? Something is seriously wrong if you haven't had a period in years. You need to go to your gynecologist immediately. Your period is your body's way of cleanse itself out.

If I was you I would go check with your doctor. They could give you something to make you have your period's. And to make sure nothing is wrong. Just be on the safe side and go talk to your doctor.

GO TO THE GYNECOLOGIST! This could be indicative of something serious. If you're very, very skinny, then it could just be caused by that (I have a friend who is on pills to GET her her period), but it is necessary that you visit the gyno right away to know the cause.

It could be. If you had your period then lost it, that is a differnt situation than never having it. I would go to a doctor and talk to him about what is going on.

Yes but maybe no because some people just don't have regular periods. Check with your OB/GYN.
