He would have deflected the blame to former President Clinton, where it rightfully belongs.

Why is Bush blamed? The WTC was originally attacked in February 1993, when Clinton was in office. Let's see, that makes over 8 and a half years for the terrorists to continue planning. But Bush was in office so let him take the fall! What a bunch of crap.

How can anyone really believe that this would not have happened if Gore would have been president. Those people didn't give a flying flip who was president. They wanted to make a statement and did a mighty fine job of doing it. Honestly, I think Gore would have hid behind his secret service men and been a little coward. I don't think he would have ever declared war on terror. He might have gave a big, blown up public announcement... but he would done nothing. He would have used it for a photo opportunity. Who knows, they may have even attacked again. But, thank God we had Bush and he socked it to 'em!

Iraq was in Violation of the first Gulf war treaty that he signed. He was shooting at our planes on a daily basis and refusing to let weapons inspecters in his country.. All of these are acts of war under his surrender treaty after Gulf war 1.
To this fact back in 1998 even John Kerry was talking about the need to take out Saddam. Most Democrats would want people to forget this but that was when George Bush wasnt even thinking about being president he was just governor of TX.
Why is it all the Democrats get a pass on this. John Kerry Al Gore were all talking about weapons of mass destruction long before BUSH!!!!!!!!!!

If Al Gore was president on 9/11. You would not be posting silly questions on yahoo answers today. You would be experiencing a far darker reality today.

The Good News: Our public schools will no longer have problems with students failing to understand English at the grade level they graduate in.

The Bad News: The English Classes will be replaced with Arabic... among other changes....

(at this point, it will be the least of our problems)

But in all honesty, he would probably appoint a blue ribbon panel to discuss and study the situation for a decade before announcing their results. At which time the announcement will be pre-empted for our evening prayers, yes, East is that way

Realistically it probably would not have happened, since Gore has the ability to read and react.

But for arguments sake let's take the view that he was unable to change the events. All plans would have been grounded including the Saudi plane. The FBI would have been allowed to interrogate the Bin Laden's. He would have made a public announcement to inform the public of the government response, not run into hiding.

I also belief he would have had our air defenses working, so there would have been the decision to shoot down the aircraft or not. Could he pull the trigger? That's a good question... I imagine he would after the first plane hit.

Since this is limited to the day of... I'll stop here.

Gore would still be on his knees begging the Taliban to hand over Bin Laden. Maybe he would've blown up an aspirin factory. Probably still be in his bunker asking his aides if it's safe to come out.

How could anyone possibly think the same thing wouldn't have happened?!? Are you blind? What would have happened? Al Quada would've taken credit for inventing the internet? Osama Bin Laden would've started caring about global warming?

Anyone who believes it would have happened any other way is living under a rock...

While we are at it...what if Ronald McDonald had been president??
C'mon. We will never know what would or would not have happened.

This is Bush's baby...it's his legacy unless he wants to yield his remaining time in office to Al Gore.

Otherwise let's keep focused on the guy who is actually responding.

He would have followed the Bill Clinton formula for declaring war on terror - a photo op and a few choice sound bytes for the off-year elections.... and nothing would have happened... evidenced by the response to the 93 attack...
