I was told by my dsl prvider that i need to uninstall and reinstall my LAN card or my network adapter and then reinstall my internet explorere. I dont have the money to take it somewhere to have it done. Can anyone help me please.

A foolproof method to achieve the whole thing in one go would be reinstall Windows.

Because Microsoft bundled Internet Explorer as PART OF Windows, although I know for sure I can substitute either Firefox or Opera as my main browser.

The reference "uninstall and reinstall my LAN card" is the driver itself, uninstalling that piece of software via System -> Device Manager, after done that turn off machine physically taking the LAN add-on card away (skip this step if the LAN was built on the mainboard) reboot it without that LAN add-on, then shutdown Windows again, physically reinsert the card and boot up again, follow the prompt Windows throw at you and consider the LAN card reinstalled.
