I love the music and soul of Elliott Smith and Jeff Buckley. Are there any other similar musicians out there? Sadly, both have died and I have run out of new material to listen to.
Also, in King's Crossing on From a basement on the hill, Elliott Smith asks "give me one good reason not to do it?" (kill himself) and somebody answers very quietly' "Because we love you."
I heard it might be his last girlfriend, (Jennifer Chiba?) but I'm not sure. Anyone know who it is?

I have recently discovered the music of Ben Harper. He is Eddie Vedder's brother by adoption. His music is soulful, and beautiful. Although not so much as Jeff Buckley, whom I think is the most beautiful singer ever. What a sad, sad loss his death was. Nonetheless, listen to Ben Harper.

How about Gary Lucas? He wrote the music for "Mojo Pin" and "Grace". Fine musician, I go to NYC at least one a year to see him play.
