He is the first serious boyfriend i ever had. But if I ever told my parents they would kill me becuase he is not white. My dad made me mad today becuase he was saying VERy sterotypical things of spanish people so i started saying sterotypical things of white ppl. It just made me so mad becuase the things he says are rude! How can someone be so judgemental. ugh. I also wanted to go to "la kalle block party 2006" n my dad says ha no way ppl everyone there will be spanish and i will get raped.!. hes so mean.... hmm comfort me

I know how your feeling, i was in your same boat at one time in my life. I never did tell my parents about this guy, till later on in my life and at that point we had already broke up. But I think that if this guys seems to be the right one for you, i know your parents wont like it but they will just have to learn to deal with it.I wouldn't tell them till you knew for sure you and this guy are really in love, than when the time comes I would tell them when your mother and father are both in the same room. I would first tell them that if they truly love you than they will someway find it in their hearts to except this and your decision. I believe it will be a shock to them, but give them time, I am sure they will come around.

It's a struggle, to love the people you've loved your whole life when they are so hateful to others. It's going to be all right.

You will eventually grow old enough to move out and live your own life. While you live with your parents respect their rules; in other words, don't piss them off intentionally. Continue with your boyfriend if that's how you feel, but accept that you cannot push your ideals on your parents anymore than they can push theirs on you.

When you do move out, go to college or university or work, you will have a lot more freedom of choice of your friends. You can invite over whomever you want, for dinner, to watch a movie, whatever. You can date whomever you want, pick your own friends, and be who you want to be. And if that's a loving, caring person who is non-judgemental, then more power to you!!

Be patient; time passes too quickly.

My dear, I get the feeling that perhaps you are over-reacting in calling them racists. Perhaps you don't want to know in what context they have it in. I myself am not exactly white, but I do think that a lot of Mexicans and other illegals are not very good as a group. It is just the way they act. In Mexico, you'd better not be black, for they ARE really racists against dark skinned folks.

You need to talk to your parents about their attitudes and their behavior. They have no reason to tell you who YOU can and cannot date, white, black, green or yellow. Color is just on the outside and you need to try to explain that to your parents. Older people tend to hold on to the things they were taught, especially racial differences. If talking to them doesn't work let them know that you are old enough to make your own desicions whether they like them or not. Stay with the boy you care about and go to the block party thing. Good luck :)

you are so awesome to brake the chain of being racist in your family. there isn't a lot you can do until you turn 18 and move out. but keep your head up and never let anyone talk you into judging someone by there skin.

Unfortunatly people were raised that way and it is hard for them to get over it.I"msure your parents love you and have some good qualities.show them as much respect in a mature way as you can. They will learn that you have good judgement and trust you.

you should tell your parents that fact that you're dating a purto rican guy, and that race shouldn't matter, as long as he loves you the way you are, and cares about you.
