Just started out day 2 driving back from Florida. I remember the first thing that came to my mind when I heard about the first tower on the radio - I knew it was a terrorist act. Some time later after the second tower was hit, they finally started talking about terrorists on the radio.

I got to Houston and they closed the Enron Building and were closing down the gas stations at 10 AM. Needless to say, I was in shock all the way back to San Antonio.

I was at home. Shocked, while looking at the images being shown on the Television. Thinking this could not be happening. Praying for all. Such a very sad day, for so many, especially the Children. And yes, for a brief moment in time, the World did stop turning, in theory...

I don't know about the whole "world stopped turning" part, but it's definately a watershed moment in history. Everyone remembers where they were.

I was stuck in the drive-through ATM lane at my bank. My fuel pump had died and I was late for work because the bank lobby wasn't open yet and i couldn't get a tow truck. My (now) sister-in-law had to come pick me up and take me to work. I was there for all of 2 hours before my boss called and told me to close my store. Spent the rest of the day at my (now ex-)girlfriend's house.

I was at Ft. Benning, GA, in the Army. We had just finished physical training and were getting ready to go have breakfast when the base went on lockdown. We didn't find out why for almost an hour, and at that point we wanted to be deployed immediately.

On an airplane flying from Stockholm, Sweden to Turku, Finland.

When I landed I called back to the states, and the first plane had just hit a few minutes earlier.

I was at my parents' house watching the second plane go into the second tower live on TV. It was shocking. I was stuck in front of the TV until about 1pm then I decided to drive home. It was the more horrible day of my life.
