Engineers do make more, starting salaries and in beginning years, but in my opinion accountants can reach end up with much higher salaries in later years depending on ambitions, industry, etc.

An average University of Michigan engineer is getting $65k a year to start. An average U of M business major (accountant, not CPA) is starting around $40k a year. CPA makes it around $50k.
