As much as I detest racism. We need to know that it still exist. The great majority of people believe as you. There are a small percentage of people who hide behind the mask of secrecy to show their behinds, but I must defend their right to do so. If not for them, I would have thought this type of feeling and behavior Gone, I guess not.

Yahoo!Answers has to operate within the laws of the places that it is available. The laws on what is inflammatory or encourages racial or religious hatred are very clear in most western countries, as some service providers (Yahoo! and E-Bay) found out a year or two ago by permitting a site selling Nazi memorabilia to remain on its sites in Europe. If they wished to remain in business, they would also have to operate within the law of the land.
So, in short, a few people are using the Q and A sites to promote or provoke racist comments and cry 'freedom of speech' when they are rightly booted off. You will actually be doing Yahoo a favor if you report these questions as soon as you spot them.

These people enjoy the reactions they get from their questions; don't give them any satisfaction. If you see a racist question; ignore it; don't rate it; don't report it. Let other bigots and racists read and answer it. In the end; they are a dying breed. Let them carry on in their ignorant bliss...

I know what you mean but I don't mind throwing it right back in their faces. You really can't start censoring this sight it is really one of the things that make it so cool. Just skip to the next question.

Not all questions pertaining to race are racist. And if questions are not appropriate then you can report them and they will be removed. It's up to the rest of us to monitor the questions.

They'll often pull those sorts of questions, but it's not yet possible to reliably program a computer to tell the difference, so they don't get pulled until someone on their staff sees it. You can flag them as abuse if you see one.

Mrs84,
Racist, homophobic, nasty, crude, and hateful speech are countered with MORE speech. We don't need to censor it. We need to counter it with reason and logic and instruction.
