Settle down, unless you are having female problems (or are trying to get on the pill) they will not do a pelvic exam.

A routine physical involves checking your blood pressure, weight, height, they will listen to your heart and lungs, check your reflexes, and if needed they might have you go for blood work or even a chest x-ray. The other thing they might have you do is pee in a cup and they will test it for different things. At your age, they may check for scoliosis (raise up shirt, bend over touch toes) this is to make sure your spine (bones in back) is straight. There will be NO "female test". The only thing they will do as far as that goes, is they may ask if you have started your period yet and at what age you started, and if you are "regular" or not. Don't be scared, this will be a piece of cake!!!!

I don't think you need to worry about any adult "female test" when going for a routine physical. They just do the routine tests, like blood pressure, blood tests, check your heart beat etc. The only doctor that is going to give you the kind of test your afraid of, is GYN and that is only when you specify that you need such a test done. So unless your complaining about something that only can be done by GYN doctor that will not be done or necessary. What you going in for is just to check your general health. Stop worrying unnecessarly!

The female test you are talking about is an internal exam, it's not that big of deal, I hate the dentist more, actually! :) But at fourteen, if you are not sexually active, then they will not give you an internal exam, hon. They may do bloodwork, urine tests, breast exam (which they will show you how to do), and then regular stuff like weight, height, etc. If you ARE sexually active, though, it is important to be honest with your dr. and tell him/her that, because you have to have an internal to ensure that you are well and you stay well. If you are worried about a doc looking at you, then find a nurse practitioner - that's a nurse with more education and they are generally educated in these kind of girl problems....

what i know is that when you are fourteen and sexually active then they have to do the female test but if u r still avirgin, they will never ever do the femsle test.
annual physical exam is done for prevention or early detection of illness. usually, if u are not sexually active yet, they will just check ur breast for any lump. female patient to a female doctor is required unless requsted. no female patient to a male dr.

If you are not sexually active, they are not going to do a pap smear (female test) on you. Chances are if anything womanly comes up they'll just ask you if you are sexually active and how your periods have been. No worries. If you are sexually active and your doctor wants to do a pap, talk to him or her about your concerns. Because you are 14 years old you do not need your mother in the room with you and your doctor should not be able or wanting to tell her about your sexual status.

A gyno physical and an annual physical are two totally different things. At an annual physical they may, draw blood, take a urine sample, check your reflexs, your heart, your hearing, your eyesight, your temp, your breathing, your reflexes, your muscle coordination, motor skills, and mobility. and maybe some more, but i think thats the jist of it

I highly doubt it. I had physicals all though highschool for sports, etc, and the farthest they went into "female tests" was asking me when my last period was. I dont think they are even allowed to "sneak attack" you with something like that ;) You'll have to make that kind of appointment yourself. Good luck at your physical!

At 14 I doubt you have anything to worry about unless you're having specific problems "down there"
