than Mike Nugent..?
When both Quarterbacks get their teams in position to kick and the kicker fails to do his job, does that say less about the quarterbacks or the team and more about the kicker ?
Eli Manning had better stats than Peyton Manning. Eli had to work harder than Peyton. With a better kicker to make those all important field goals, wouldn't the N.Y. Giants have won the game on Sunday, 10 September 2006?
Your thoughts...

APOLOGIES ALL AROUND..
Jay Feely (Michigan) is the kicker for the N.Y. Giants and Jeff Feagles (Miami-Fl) is the punter.
General question about the kicker still stands.

Like it or not, the kickers are a part of the team too. In fact, the place kicker is the leading scorer on nearly every NFL team.
The only thing your evidence suggests is that the kicker is more important than the quarterback. I'm not suggesting that that is actually true, but kicking is definitely an enormous part of the game.

Mike Nugent is the Kicker for the NY "JETS", Jay Feely does the chore for the Giants, and yes, Vanderjagt is now with the Cowboys (but this "idiot kicker" was with the Colts last year). Great Field goal percentage is usually just 80%, so many things go into it - but yes, Vinatieri is clutch. Actually the Giants penalties and mistakes are what beat them (w/a little help from the refs) - they should've just kept running the ball (something the Colts could not do). If you consider how WELL the Giants running attack was, Eli actually should've done BETTER than he did - and if you saw how much the Colts running SUCKED you KNOW he had to try to pass on all the key downs, so it's amazing he did as well as he did. All things considered, Peyton had to put the team on his back to get the win - and the confidence they have in Vinatieri helped seal the deal.

No, actually the refs beat the Giants.
That offensive pass interferecnce call that negated a first down reception was garbage. The Giants were gashing us at will with the run all through the second half and it was only a matter of time before they hit paydirt again.
Then again, it didn't help that the G-Men secondary dropped like 3 sure INTS..
Thank goodness for butterfinger DB's and blind refs.

Either way, the Colts really beat them. Eli, for the first time since he began his career, has more talent around him than Peyton does. Peyton no longer has the EDGE. Is anybody else sick of hearing the made up hype of seeing those two in the Super Bowl. The fact is, neither of them will be in the Super Bowl

It was the kicker that won them the game. Eli looked pretty good and if Feely could kick, well we would have been better off that is for sure!

Eli fumbled a hand off, and allowed the mishandling of the snap at the end of the game. He's good, but he has a ways to go. Colts are all around better at this point in time.
Oh, and the Colts' former kicker's name is Mike "Liqueured up" Vanderjagt. Get it right next time.

actually..i dont blame the lose on the kicker..BECAUSE the giants made too many penalties on offense..if it were not for those i do believe the giants would have won. the colts defense was pretty soft...tiki barber was able to run all over the place..until the stupid penalties were made...cause what..burress had 3? 4? penalties in the first half..2 of them back to back..even though he made a big play after it..the penalties set them back...so the giants offense were there own worst enemies that game..

Didnt see the game, but yes the kicker can make or break a game, and Vinatieri is the BEST at what he does. Just look at what he did for New England while he was there.

Vinatieri is a way better kicker I just wish he never left the Patriots. Peyton always has some smug look on his face like he is better than everyone. The Colts suck.
