I need a Narrowed Topic..... What can be the Main POint of the Essay....and what could be a good hook?

Hmm, what about the effect on the children of today due to the fact that people on Yahoo answers will do all of their homework for them. The hook could be the staggering rate of stupidity that would result?

Write about something you know. If you are a dancer, write about that. If you play soccer, write about that.
A narrowed topic is simply taking a broad subject like music and narrowing it down to something that you can write about in a couple of pages. For example, you could write about your favorite artist's latest CD, but you wouldn't want to try to tackle EVERYTHING about that artist.
The main point is like your title. Think like this:
Title
Main point = title, but write it in a complete sentence
Think of three details you could put under your main point.
Ok, now take each detail and think of two or three details you can put under each detail - if that makes sense. (It's a lot easier when I can show my students).
Fill out your details in complete sentences, think up a catchy beginning and ending, and you have your essay.
