Write a follow up letter telling them how wonderful it was to work with them and you would love the opportunity to help their friends and family. Put in a form with a SASE for them to send back to you.

So if I meet with you, as soon as you close the deal the first thing you ask is where are more customers? That makes me feel used, like I'm not an important customer, but just a way for you to find other customers.

Give superior service - call 2 weeks later and make sure that i got and understand my policy - be there when I call, or call me back the same day. Then, when you send that goofy little calendar we all throw away, put a couple of extra business cards in.

Or, if this is legal in your state, after you've had a client for a year, offer an incentive for all existing clients, that any new business they refer to you they get put into a drawing for something really cool, like a plasma TV - but you have to give them points even if who they refer doesn't buy, not just for sales.

Very simple, state to your current client "do you like the level of service my company provides?" If he says YES, then say "do you know anyone that would enjoy the same level of service for this type of price?" If he says YES, say "Great!, can I get there names and numbers, so I can reach them?"

State: "I would like to contact your friends and family and provide them this great service, can I use your name to do so?"

Always ask after a sale, always!

State: "I work off referals, do you know anyone that could use this type of service?"

Hope this helps, hit me up if you need anything else.
