the closest answer I believe is of the Beiring Straight, which joins the Pacific and Arctic oceans. The distance is around, 50 miles, and could be 31.8 miles.

I belived it is Lakes you are talking about. In North America (canada / Usa) Lake Superior it is 31,800 miles.
