ok i really like music but the grene i really like is r&b and hip-hop bjut i want to see what yall think and choose what kind of music you all like cause i just wanted to know the popularity of which one the yahoo people on here like. so feel free i am going to put this up for vote so no one will get the best answer...thanks

Honestly, I like anything and everything. I used to play the flute and I am really into good beats because I can feel the music...lol I dont know if playing the flute played a role in that or not. Also, when I was growing up I was not allowed to listen to rap; instead my parents listened to disco, motown,new and classic country and since I am an 80's child I also listened to that. Music is life I dont limit my ears to just one genre...sorry so long! ;)

Well, the most popular is probably what you said, R&B and Hip Hop, both of which I detest. I can enjoy some underground Hip Hop, but not the mainstream garbage like 50 Cent, Nelly, P. Diddy and all that crap. I also despise the music of the likes of "J.Lo", Beyonce and Mariah Carey, for example. Completely depthless commercial crap designed to rot your brain as far as I'm concerned. I also can't stand Dance "music", Teen Pop, Reggaeton, most Latin music, and basically most of what MTV rots the minds of youngs kids with today.
I prefer genres that actually involve talent and musicianship as well as a passion for the music instead of for the money. It also helps a lot that the band has a good message to get through and something intelligent to say. Lyrics are important (if there are any) but it doesn't matter if they're poetic or a straight-forward in-your-face kind of message or whatever, as long as they're well written. My favorite genres are the following:
Industrial, Metal (Thrash/Speed, Industrial, Melodic Death, Gothic, etc.) Grunge, Stoner Rock, Goth Rock, Hardcore/Punk/Punk Rock, Classical, Jazz, Blues, Funk, Reggae, Ambient, New Age, Goa Trance, etc.

ROCK b/c country is boring, new age is weird, rap dont get me started on it I HATe it and well..... R&b is also boring, pop just suxs, and classical is boring, and yeah.......
