Many/most employers can monitor anything you do on the Internet. Some can even monitor what you do on the computer that does not involve the Internet. You probably agreed to this monitoring as a condition for employment; read all of the fine print before you sign, though you probably don't really have a choice.

Ha-ha-ha... this is funny listening to all of you saying that your company can read your emails and logs all your activity. The only way they can ever read your yahoo email is if you let them, or allow a remote session with them. They have rules and laws they have to follow as well. To play it safe, use a third party email retriever like "Web2Mail." This will never allow them to read any emails from any of your accounts that are not company owned. Wake up, people! LOL.... Good luck! :o)

Oh yeah they sure can- depends on who is better with computers you or them..... Also, if they are super sneaky they maybe monitoring your internet usage perhaps using something like an internet nanny, it also is not that hard to pull up the history page and tell what websites you have been to. My best advice to you would be to delete all the history for the day. Then go to your Start menu, Control Panel, Internet Options- under the General Tab- delete cookies and delete files. I would reboot my machine if I were you. If you do this it will decrease the chances of them noticing you have been checking your email at work....unless of course they are monitoring it from a different program.
By the way-do not forget to delete your temporary internet files!!!

yes they can read and see what ever you are doing on your computer most employers have rules about personal use and at times will allow you to use their computer while on breaks but understand you can get yourself in trouble and even fired if the content is inappropriate or seen as threatening in any way. Better off to just to wait until you get home to do your personal business.

Big companies actually log and save every single item on your computer including emails. I know this because I work for a large company and our law department told us they do this in case of lawsuits. So every single email you write can go into "storage". Sorry!

Hello, dumb people of the world....YES THEY CAN!! They can read your emails, see how long you're in a website, see which website you've visted, and even know your passwords.
Check out these websites for software any big company would consider as worth the investment.

Well depends on the employer. Do you work at "Microsoft"? then sure, everything you do over the internet is known to them, the websites you visit (dont go porn lol), the emails you recieve etc.
or do you work at "i dont know pcs"? at which point you can do whatever you want.

They can watch everything you do and if they desire, video tape it! They can not only watch, but control your desktop and your software! I have this software on my home network, the place I work has it! The only thing your employer cant watch you do at work is take a dump!

Why would you want to expose yourself and check your personal email at work....if you do it during working hours they can check them...and also you can get in trouble! Unless your yahoo email is used for work...if so...they can check it as well.
