I would have to say STL stand up. I am going to be moving to STL. I love it. Every city has ghettos, every city has humidity. There is a lot to do in STL. Huge Forest Park (bigger than Cental PArk in NYC) free Museum, Zoo, etc. The Arch, big hip hop scence and stll growing.
I love STL.

Well, it depends on what you mean by better. If it's weather then St. Louis gets 4 seasons. So, it's a little humid in the summer but what can you say. Detroit is FREEZING in the winter. I have never lived in Cleveland or Atlanta so I can't really say, but i imagine Cleveland gets pretty cold in the winter also.
I personally am partial to St. Louis because it is a nice area. Everywhere you go will have it's bad areas. I actually am from right across the river in IL. It is one of the only places I have been to that still has free family entertainment. It's zoo is free and it's a pretty good zoo. I love the area and can't wait until I can move back there.
My family is from Detroit and while I like to go visit I wouldn't want to live there. It does look kind of dirty. (Although it hurt my feelings a little to see people speaking so badly about it.) Maybe some of the surronding areas would be a better idea.

Detroit: bombed out moonscape. No redeeming aspects. (Ok, its close to Windsor, Ontario, which is a nice town. And the Redwings are good.)

Cleveland: Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and ... well, there's always the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (actually, Cleveland is pretty nice. Sort of low key in a big city kinda way.)

Atlanta: traffic up the wazzoo, hotter than you know what, plenty of areas you don't want to go to after dark (as opposed to Detroit where there are NO areas you want to go after dark); but if you always wanted to be in a town with twenty different streets named Peachtree, this is your town.

St. Louis: the heat and humidity capital of the world. Do not -- repeat, do not -- go there in the summer without at least three changes of clothes per day. Otherwise, a nice town, kinda fun. You HAVE to go up in the Arch. People are pretty friendly. And hey, its the gateway to East St. Louis (just in case you're in St. Louis, wanted to visit Detroit but don't feel like driving that far).

I wouldn't recommend St. Louis. I live there and I am white and I see the lack of diversity. Anyone who thinks St. Louis is diverse has never actually seen diversity. If you are not from St. Louis and don't know the right people you won't find a good job. I am a veteran and not many companies in this area respect their veterans even though if it wasn't for the nearby air force base their economy would be severely affected.
Most of St. Louis is nothing but run down vacant buildings that no one tries to clean up. If you don't like the St. Louis Cardinals or the Rams there is not much for you.
They don't have nice weather. It is either very hot and humid or too cold.

I would live in Atlanta because there is a lot of diversity, plenty of jobs, plenty to do, nice neighborhoods, and you see very wealthy people of all races and everyone seems to have class there. There is a lot of new construction so you don't see a bunch of run down vacant buildings like St. Louis. Georgia has low taxes especially on gas. I have considered living there, but I like being closer to the ocean and it is a little chili for me. Otherwise I highly recommend it.

I have to defend St. Louis a little bit. Yes, the humidity is bad but we experience all four seasons beautifully!

As for it being racist, I live in the city and my neighborhood is seriously multicultural. I love it. Lots of Bosnians, Blacks, Vietnamese and other Asians. It depends where you live in the metro area. Yes, the county (suburbs) is not very diverse.

I just visited Atlanta and it seems like a nice town. I didn't think the traffic was too bad, but it was really hot. I had a lot of fun there.

Don't do St. Louis, it is a very racist city! There is a great color divide here, if your not the right color you won't get a good job unless the company hired you out of town and sent you here. There are definite white parts of town and the economic consequences of racism are really evident. No one here really talks about it, but I am black I live in the burbs and I see it all day long. Everyone is nice but I am the only man of color in my neighborhood and I know it is due to sharp people of color not being able to get a good position here. I am OK due to the fact I work for myself but as soon as I can afford to I will move because I don't want my children growing up in a city with silent and supported racism. Unless your a sports person or TV personality you will not like it here. STAY AWAY! I don't mean to offend any White Americans in St. Louis but its just the truth. It is just an unspoken topic.
