I believe "props" in a poker game are different than a prop player. The "props" I am referring to seem to be some sort of side bet but I don't know how it works.

"Props" in poker that aren't Proposition players, are sidebets related to the game being played involving cards in play but are seperate occurrences from the regular game... for example, if you're playing Texas Hold'em, you can play props like "Red or Black", you and one opponent look at the flop and if it's majority red, you would win a dollar (or whatever amount you want) from your opponent. But if it's black, then they would win a dollar from you. There's an infinite number of props you could play in any number of games... it just depends on the game. Another common one is picking a three-card-combo in hold'em and going against someone who picks their own combo... like 5-6-7 for you and 2-4-6 or whatever combo for them. Basically it's a luck-based side game underneath the actual game... 3 kings vs. 3 queens on the flop... etc. etc. etc.
