Between this and the funeral, you've got a lot on your plate right now.

It may seem horribly inconvenient and painful, but having the time apart from each other is a really great thing for you both.

Since you dated for a year, there's no way he doesn't know how you feel. Plus, metaphorically speaking, you can hold your breath for 4 weeks: in a human lifetime, that's practically nothing.

It is an absolute, irrefutable certainty that no guy will ever "find someone new" -- Unless He's Looking For Someone New -- in which case, you shouldn't want him.

You didn't reveal the nature of the infraction for which you each forgave the other, so it isn't really clear how serious was his transgression.

Girls cheat for different reasons than the reasons for which guys cheat. If a guy cheats on you just once, he has revealed what sort of guy he is: he will never change, and though it might be a while before he cheats again -- he Will cheat again. Cheating in men is evidence of a fundamental and irreparable character flaw.

The same goes for a guy that hits you or is verbally or psychologically abusive: abusers Never change for the better. Ditto for guys that lie to you: it's a pathological flaw that they will continue to manifest for the remainders of their respective natural lives.
