No matter if it is a stranger, family members, significant other,etc...I think I would be weirded out and scared to see them dead in front of my eyes! I'm so used to seeing live ppl especially the ones I love!

I can't stop thinking about the day I die and have all these strangers touching/opening me up and god knows what! Scary for me!

Can't tell you what it's REALLY like to see a dead body. Everybody is different and thinks differently, reacts differently. Depending on your life experience, it may or may not be frightening or wierd. It was very natural for me. You would have to experience it yourself to find out.

when i was little i didn't know what a wake was and i went and almost had a heart attack. I couldn't figure out why anyone feels the need 2 stare at a dead body. I want people to remember me alive not dead and cold with no soul. Never age in have i ever gone back to one and i decided when i am gone i don't want to have a open casket

It is not a pleasant experience trust me. I had that experience and it is an image that i can never ever forget. It is really sad to have to see that, and scary at the same time. I was there at the hospital with my dad he god rest his soul was the deceased i was waiting for well over an hour for my sister to get there. My family members such as my mom etc i told them to go home and i would wait for my sister. However i did get to tell him how much we all loved him he already knew that and that he was our knight in shining armor. And through his illness he was still strong and loving and caring for all of us and that i wish i could be as strong as he was. God Bless You Daddy. We Love and miss you. Glad you asked this question got to tell someone else my woes it's been 4 years since he left us, you never forget what you seen with your eyes.Hope you never have to go through anything like this ever.

It is better to see the body prepared at the funeral than not. That way you know they have left and what is in that casket is just cold dead meat.
I couldn't be dragged to a funeral when I was a child, but as an adult I just have to know they are gone. I make a point of touching their hand or face to reassure myself they really are gone.
You see, I know the soul is forever. The body left behind is just the house. You'll have to come to that understanding for yourself or have one of your relatives come visit after they are gone. That's pretty convincing.

its a bit like seeing a live body actualy. honastly, think about it, death is just as natural as life,
you live in a universe where life and death are insignifigent to the natural world. a rock doesn't know/care if you are alive.
when i see a live person i see life and what it means. when i see a dead person i see nature.
really its the best thought you could have for someone deseased, going back to nature is the greatest thing. there is no weird psycological thing that happens to you when you see someone thats dead unless you let there be.

If and when you see a dead body (family, friend,or other), you'll know it and it will stick with you for a long long time. And if you're already worried about being "felt up and stuff" when you yourself pass..... you're watching to many episodes of CSI.

At a funeral, it's eerie enough. But to observe a corpse at the scene is very sickening. If one does not feel upset by the site, they must not have a sole or conscience.

Its like seeing a person lying there, not moving. Its not a big deal. Its not like brain eating zombie movies are documentaries.
