I understand honoring the people that died and not forgetting about what happened but this weak attempt by Bush to get sympathy by acting sincere and saying generic things about why America is great just doesn't honor them in a very honorable day. That TV show they have on seems to be too much drama like they're just trying to capitalize off the emotional time for people.

If you don't see it that way and think what they are doing is good then I'm not bashing you, it just looks different to me. And to anyone doing any real greiving, I'm sorry.

P.S. I'm really not trying to be insensitive to anyone. It's the media and the president I'm upset with.

Absolutely, I hate that all these movies and documentaries are being shown all over the place. They're all trying to cash in on American sympathy and over sensationalize everything. It makes me sick to my stomach knowing that someone's death is making a profit for some scum bag who's plucked at the right heart strings.

I'm all for honoring memories of people, but there's a word and a place for it. I like to call it a "memorial" How much more of this will we have to put up with? It's only been 5 years and it still feels too soon because everywhere you hear "9/11" over and over. And if I say this out loud, I'm demonized for being "unpatriotic" and "unsympathetic" when it's entirely the other way around.

OMG, thank you so much. I totally agree. Most of the media around this time shows nothing but people saying how tragic that this was, then reviews the same story and say the same things over and over, just so that they can keep people glued to their seats long enough for another commercial. It really sickens me that they can't be truly sincere about what happened. From now on, unless I am hearing about the final decisions on the freedom tower or the new memorial for the victims, I would much rather them report the news.

I completely agree, and I am from New York. I am sick of all the lies. I am sitting here at the comp. because there is nothing else on. (Well Animal Planet has been running 24 hour long specials on Steve Irwin). The 9/11 deaths were senseless to begin with but now we have senselessly added so many more.

I agree with you...I think that movie on ABC called The Path to 9/11 is just ridiculous. On a day in which we should be praying, and reflecting on our country's loss, they are showing a movie on how our government, a bunch of egotistical, self serving, power hungry politicians covered up and ignored the evidence that could possibly have saved us all from that horrible day. I think they should be ashamed of themselves for showing such a movie.

Yes, it is the same here in New Orleans with all the Katrina crap; the media can't leave it alone. I'm sick of all the stupid speeches that won't change anything.

Yes we all know that it was very sad, but it has been 5 years. I am so sick of it. I just lost a member of my family, so yes it is sad, but keep it to yourself. Now they want everyone to help build a monument. I have never been to New York, and I did not know anyone that was there, so why should I care? Bring us other news!

I agree with you; I no longer care about it and I tune it out.

We have walks for Breast Cancer and 9/11 - both of them led by Jews (Susan G. Komen was Jewish).
