Today my two month old was in his car seat and the car seat was set up on the seat of a shopping cart. Somehow the seat hit something and the whole thing fell. It was in a clothes store and the clothes broke his fall, when I tried to catch him, I may have made it worse. I don't think HE hit the floor because the handle was up on the seat, and he was strapped in, and he had the neck brace thing in his seat. He cried for a minute, and had a small bump and some redness over his eye, but it has gone away. I was terrified and I still am. Is there anything I should be looking for? He is eating and sleeping fine. I'm just concerned.

It sounds like he is fine since he is sleeping and eating ok. Just keep an eye on hin thought the night and make sure that you can wake him up every couple of hours. If you are still concerned in the morning then make a doctors appointment.

I would really consider having him seen by a peditrician just to be on the safe side. It only takes a small bump on a infants head to cause damage. Just shaking a baby can be fatal. I would take the child in. I am a mom of three. Its a good thing the baby was strapped in or it would have been worse. If you have any baby questions you can always go on a mom website and they have great info and advise.

You child should be ok, (I woud still see his DR just to make sure) if he is sleeping and eating fine (vomiting would be a sign of damage, and if that starts up I would call your childs DR and see what he wants you to do and if you can't reach him the hospital). A good way to check for any brain damage is to see if your child is still doing the things he was before the fall. Remeber that kids are tough and can handle alot.

This is all you need to know,a newborn baby fell from a high place and he needs to see the doctor right away,he could have hurt his neck or worse, you dont mess with babies, eventhough your embarassed you would feel worse if you let this go and something happens you would feel worse.Just because he acts normal now means nothing.Take him in,better safe than sorry.

If he doesn't have a fever, and isn't crying and the bump is small/gone then he's probably just fine. It just gave you a good scare. That said, if you still feel uncomfortable, go to your pediatrician. It's what you pay them for, and it will ease your mind.

As a mother of four, I will tell you that it is always good to get the baby checked. Anytime in doubt. More than likely he is just fine. But still get him checked. Sometimes they look for more than you did.

I wouldn't worry too much, babies are very flexible and their bones are like jelly and won't break that easy. I know it is scary when some thing happens to your baby but he should be fine if it makes you feel better have him sleep in your bed tonight or you sleep in his room. Enjoy your son!

I would say that he is going to be fine. Kids have accidents...it is part of life. I you are still concerned about him then I would have him looked at but unless he is acting weird then I would say that you have nothing to worry about!

If you are worried take him to the ER. If he is sleeping more than normal, then you do need to have things checked out....Also if he is vomiting.
