For the person who wrote that Nadal owns the grass courts, let me tell him that the French Open is a clay court not grass court.

Yes, he is currently the second best clay court player and has come match point close to beating Nadal on clay (although not at RG). If Agassi can win French at age 29, Roger can do it with such an all court and fluid game.
Since the surface is very endurance taxing, I think he'll have to do it in the next 5 years.

I'll go with a gut reaction, and say "yes". Federer is only 25 and should be close to his peak for the next 5 to 6 years. While Nadal is the better clay court player, it seems reasonable that Federer is talented and versatile enough to find a way to win at least one at Roland Garros to get his career Slam.

(At the same time, judging by this year's result, I think Nadal will also find a way to win at least one Wimbledon, and also win at least one of each major in his career.)

It will be a dog fight next year. The best bet for Federer is not meeting Nadal until the final, and hope someone could beat him along the way. If Federer does meet Nadal in the final then that will be even closer than this year's results. On the other hand, Nadal will also improve on Grass Court as well...

Maybe. He probably won't be the favorite as long as Nadal or other strong clay courters are still around, but he has the ability -he got to the finals this year & took a set off Nadal while looking like he wasn't as comfortable as on grass. If he gets a little more confident on clay, he's got a shot any of the next few years if he's healthy.

I believe and hope that Roger will win Roland Garos. Even though it's his worse surface he has been improving dramatically on that surface.
Nadal is a great player but Federer i think in the next Grand Slam will beat him even though he is a very tough player. Roger really wants this Grand Slam and he has the qualities to achieve what only two men have, win all four grand slams in a year.
Federer is the best!

he's good.... but the answer is NO!!!! Rafael Nadal will win the French Open!!!! he's the clay court champion...... if he didn't beat federer in the french open, federer could have won all the 4 grand slams..... but i have to admit that federer's really really good..... i'm a fan of him too..... but NADAL will still win the French Open....

Anything can happen on clay. Lots of very long rally's and uncertain bounces - of all the Grand Slams this is the one you most frequently see "low/non seeds" making it very far through the draw... but you'd have to think with Roger's all around game he'll do it sometime in the next 5-8 years.

Yes, Federer will win the French. Nadal is bound to be injured sometime soon.

Hopefully. It's a pity to see the dude winning everything else but the french open.
That Nadal is a total beast, and I'm really hoping someone of his generation (probably Gasquet) to win him.
