What are the chances of him playing this season?

If he plays again this season it will be around April/May.
His operation may of been successful but it takes time to heal, aswell as it takes time to get match fit again.
He should be out for a bit longer than Alan Smith was and that was 7-8 months. So around April/May.

I think he has only recently had another operation in the States. I cannot see him playing this season. I hope he makes a full recovery as he is such a good goal scorer although I think he made a huge mistake joining Newcastle. They seem to think they have a divine right to do well but in truth they are a poor side with a poor manager and chairman. It is a shame as the fans are fanatical about their team and deserve better.

He'll be back by the end of this year most probably. There were rumours that he wouldn't be able to play for the whole season though.

I heard his surgergy was very successfull and they are anticipating a speedy recovery. But I don't fancy him playing until Feb of 2007.

i heard that he is ready to play now and will play in the euro 08 qualifiers
