That is a pretty broad question but to break it down for you, water is one of the few substances on Earth that exists naturally as a Solid, Liquid or Gas .Changes in state, such as solid to liquid or gas to liquid, are caused by changes in energy. Changes in this energy, which ultimately comes from the sun, are measured by changes in temperature.

So thus that is why we have salt water, fresh water, ground water and surface water & also waste water .

I could be argued that there are only two types of water.
Fresh water, and heavy water. There are many different solutions dissolved in fresh water. Heavy water has an extra isotope, and is used in the manufacture of hydrogen bombs.
