you brush your treeth in the morning to get the plaque off your teeth that forms over nite. So if you brush them before or after breakfast it doesnt matter

You should brush your teeth before to fight bad morning breath and remove all the plaque and grime set in from overnight. After breakfast kind of keeps the ball rolling with the plaque. I can't eat until I have a fresh taste in my mouth!

Because there is bacteria in your mouth in the morning from sitting all night long. Bacteria collects in warm moist places. It is best to brush your teeth before breakfast for that reason.

Compromise: gargle BEFORE breakfast so you don't knock anyone over with your morning breath then brush AFTER you eat!
