A prime number is a # that cannot be gotten through mulitplication. 77 however can ( I stress CAN) be multiplied through the digits 7 and 11 which ironically, are prime #'s themselves.
So remember, primes cannot be mulitplied or divided.

Most of the answers given above are correct. I want to add that all three numbers, 7, 11, and 77 are odd repdigit numbers. Most repdigits greater than 11 are composite because they're multiples of repunits.
