20 years ago, I was dating what I can now say was the first love of my life; not only was she intelligent, good looking & great to be around of, she thought I was just a great guy.
We had been dating for close to 3 years when a friend of hers got us involved with somewhat of a "guru". To make a long story short, we split, I left the country & have always regretted letting someone ruin what I considered at the time, a great relationship.
Swing forward 20 years & I have been blessed with a soulmate that I've been able to grow over the last 13 years with. She's shown me that being a man can sometimes mean crying, being angry and more importantly, being able to show these emotions without thinking myself as a weakling...
To this day, I still wish that I could go back & not so much change what happened so many years ago but to let her know that she helped me become the man I am today. The successes I enjoy and the memories I have I think would not have the same meaning had I not gone through this period of my life.
Sometimes though, I still think back & wonder what could have been & mostly, what is she doing?...

I have regrets for watching her walk out and not doing anything REASONABLE to stop her. I gave up too easy.

Yes, yes and YES. I regret it every single day of my life. The grass is NOT greener on the other side, it's brown and depressing. :(
