what im asking about is that when a girl dresses up completely like a guy no one thinks any different of her but if a guy wears so much as a women's shirt or pink socks he is considered gay

Because society sees it as a normal thing for females to wear jeans & t-shirts, since so many do. It is not an everyday occurrence to see a man wearing a dress.

Wow. If I had a boyfriend I wouldn't dress up like that anywhere. Heck, even without a boyfriend now I don't dress up like that! She's obviously an attention seeker. If I had a boyfriend I'd dress up nicely or casual, but not to the point where I look like I'm in a bra and underwear. I'd rather wear a cute dress or on comfy days a nice pair of jeans and a cute top/sweater/jacket on top. Yikes. Not booty shorts and a cloth on top. -.-

It is a traditional handdown of some sort. In the past in some races recorded in history men did wear dresses, not sure of the exact culture or time recorded in history. In these days and time you are right, a man wear a dress he is difinitely gonna be considered gay.

I would have hoped that we would have come far enough to realize that women aren't limited to dresses. Men have had the power over women for centuries, yet you ask why men can't be seen in dresses?
Women have been forced to wear dresses for centuries--we had to cover our arms, legs, and necks our of modesty. We had to risk being called a "slut" if we showed our legs. Men have had the luxury of not wearing a corset, not shaving their legs, and wearing whatever they wanted.
So why can't a man wear a dress? Because society places the "dress" in the category that limits women. Why WOULD a man want to wear a dress if it means being placed into a place of being controlled, the property of another man?
