They are American-made cars. I mean, it originated here in the US.... So why?

because holden already had out the monaro wich is what the GTO is based off of and holden is apart of GM. and they thought it would be cheaper to make them off of that same platform as the monaro but instead it cost them to much to ship them and all that. and its possible that the new Grand Prix will also be from au. and the GTO is not like driving a high horspower truck its like driving a high horspower car that handles way better than the Charger or Mustang. and the GTO and Camaro will be build in canada. its cheaper for auto manufactures to have cars built in other countries because the workers work for alot les money. and its also cheaper for them to use the same platform for several diff cars.

The new camaro will be built in canada as a 2009 model and 2006 is the last year of the GTO but it is coming back out in the next few years and there are rumors of the firebird returning also.

because GM is retarded, they cut the camaro line after they thought there was no more market for those kind of cars. The GTO that was made here recently was based on the austrailian gto car, that is why is sucked. It was like driving a high horse powered truck. But not to worry, the camero line is makeing it's way back to the US in 2008/ 2009. Gm sucks, go Mopar we have better cars

The Camaro isn't even being built yet, so how can it be built in Australia.
The GTO has existed as the Holdne Monaro for years. It didn't make sense for GM to build another plant in America to build the very few GTO's they actually sold at sticker. Those cars didn't sell for anything.

I am not sure but my first car was a camero 1978. My ex had a goat 1968. Both were fast!!!!!! :-)
