If it does not contain death, injury, crying or they cannot twist the truth, it is not newsworthy. Proof is in the morning news - any station - when they interview someone that has suffered a personal tragedy, listen to the questions. They all are asked in a way to get the person to cry on camera. When they do cry, the sound goes silent and they focus the camera on them to get as much mileage as possible.

I've been avoiding the television today, but the news programs I've seen have been focusing on the memorials that took place today.
In a more general sense, I would hate to stop showing the images for fear that we would forget the lessons we should have learned that day. A the same time, there is a point that too much is too much.

I think they should not show it , it is something we will never forget but they need to let it rest like the lives that loved ones has lost . How can anyone get on with there lives if they keep reminding them of that sad day .

It's a tragedy that we can't forget. Yes, showing images can open old wounds, but it's imperative to see what happened and to keep us focused so that we don't forget.

I think it borders on exploitation. I mean, who has really forgotten that day? We can remember and memorialize those lost without reliving the gruesomeness of buildings collapsing, etc.

That it is typical. Anything for fear mongers to get ratings.
We are all going to die from: (pick one) legonairre's disease, SARS, Killer bees, the ozone layer disappearing, hepta virus, Y2K, global warming, AIDS, the bird flu.
The media kills me!
