I did, and when we're asked "how'd you meet" we still feel weird, as popular as it is- it feels weird telling people.

I did and He's my husband now.

Tell people about how you met with a smile. If you act comfortable about it, then they will too.

Why? Hypothetical situation:
You go out the club with some friends to enjoy a night of dancing. While you are out on the dance floor working up a sweat you happen to bump into "mates name" and as your eyes meet it's an instant connection. Next thing you know you are at a table in the back where it's relatively quiet making plans for your first date. Instead of tagging along with your friends back home you decide to grab a bite with "mates name" before turning in. Before the night is over you have already received/given the first kiss and say good night.
Now the question is, "Is it really that much different to meet someone for the first time on-line than in person?" No, it isn't. Whether you meet the person on-line, at a bar/club, blind date, or even in the grocery market IT DOES NOT MATTER, what matters is that you did meet and care for each other. Announce it from the roof tops that you met on-line, it's OK and you should not feel weird about it.

I don't mean to be a spoiler but I met a potential mate online. Through AOL. Such a great person and was the best relationship I had ever been in. The first 6 months were so exciting and new. We talked of marriage even getting an engagement ring. Only to find out that he had a live in girlfriend of 8 years and was on lock down so the only way he could meet people was at work or online. Story of my life. We met in May of '01 and I finally cut ties with him in October of '04 after learning earlier that year he married some girl he knew for six months and they met at the club. I fell so hard in love with him and thought that I could just be his friend after it was all said and done ... big mistake.

I did. I met my husband online. I suppose some people would feel weird or embarrassed to admit they've met a significant other online. I, however do not.

One reason my husband and I met online was because we are very busy professionals. We didn't have time to go to the usual places where one meets a mate. So we resorted to what was convenient for us.

I suppose one could meet the wrong person online, but not if you know what you want and what to look for. I knew what I wanted and listed it. My husband saw my profile and emailed me telling me he met all my requirements. It was up to me to decide whether he did or not.

Evidently, he did. We just recently married and I have no regrets.

I know what you mean, we met on Halloween at a bar (shhhh) it's kind of embarrassing to tell but it's the truth. He was just getting over a divorce and out for the night and I happened to be celebrating being able to even go to the bars. The real catcher is I was dressed in a "kitty" costume and he had a "wolf" costume on!Go figure, and we're still married with four kids!! Ignore everyone, it's working for you.

I did. We felt weird at first and many people didn't know until someone mentioned it at our wedding. It's very common. You can have fun with it and make up an outrageous story...and I mean crazy likeyou were on a safari and he saved you from a lioan and when they get so enthralled and say...reallly?!?!?! just say ..nah, we met online like everyone else!

Be proud, be happy. Doesn't matter how you met, it matters that you found someone you love!

ok guy sick inform you my tale. while i became 15 i used to play WoW (became addicted to it ;p) and met this dude online then met him in real life and we are solid friends ever considering that. 7 years. Its much less probable that the guy you meet is a pervert hiding his age etc yet remains threat. SO make sure u meet him at a public closed place like a eating place whilst the solar remains up. deliver a pal with you for backup hehe ;p

I'm still in the early stages of an online relationship; just trying to take things slow, you know, one step at a time.

Try how I met my husband - on one of those free "800" phone chat lines. The internet is pretty respectable.

If you are happy together, maybe you should be proud of how you met.
