Buy new cabinets....the glides, doors, etc. are all pretty well shot by the time you need new fronts..why put up with old configurations when a whole new kitchen will probably serve you better. New cabinets are usually about the same price, if not cheaper (buy them from a builder supply) , not Home Depot!

The question can be better answered by asking another one:

Do you have children in the home? What are their ages?

IF the children are small, then I can assure you that those cabinets will be BEATEN all over by the time the children turn 18 and start going their own way in life -- from heavy use, kids kicking the doors shut, slamming them open, dropping juice, food, milk, etc when they are clumsy, etc etc etc.

IF it is just adults in the house -- MAYBE ... look at the structure of the entire cabinets -- how are the brackets holding up, the support structures, the sides and the facings? Do you fry (this is hard on wood structures -- no matter how careful you are -- those oils get everywhere), bake, or what? Where is your water lines and drain lines -- any water damage to the structures or interiors?

All this will help with your decision on the cabinets.

My folks and my neighbors did cabinet refacing. It is half the price of new cabinets. Their cabinets looked like new when it was done.

I found it to be almost the same as buying new cabinets. Check your prices.
