As an auto mechanic, I used to wipe my hands off with brake cleaner, It literally removes the natural oils from within your skin, soon learned to stop that when my knuckles would break open and bleed,
so I think your answer Is a Yes

Yes, your skin can crack from being too dry. Try this if you have severe dry skin, after you shower or bathe, while you are still wet, apply baby oil to your skin, let it stay on for about 2-3 minutes then towel dry (blot, rub whichever way you dry your self off). Then after you towel dry apply baby lotion. You will definitely see a big difference after a few days of continuous use. FYI, I like to use Johnson & Johnson products the best.

Yes, you can, I think they are called skin breaks, they are small tears that seem like cuts and can be tender. You need to start using baby oil as soon as you get out of the tub or shower to seal in moisture and then pat your skin dry, don't rub it. You may then need to put on lotion. It sounds like a lot, but it will change your skin dramatically.

It could be a skin disorder or just extremely dry skin. Try using moisturizer on your arms, legs, hands, feet and face and see if that helps. There are creams that include aloe that will help you heal distressed skin. If that doesn't work after a couple weeks, then see a dermatologist.

that's dry skin splitting..
steam the face and get some skin creams and hydrate more!
how is your diet? are you on medications?
how dry is the air where you are? do you work around chemicals?
if you figure out some elements in your life.. that might affect your skin... you may be able to alieve this issue. and reduce the irritation, cracking and any pain that may come from deep splitting.

Yes you can. My mom has really dry skin and if it's too dry it cracks, and she says it hurts a lot. I would use a lot of lotions and moisturizers.
