so how do I get sound again. Everytime I start the computer I get the "hardware found" than it says that a "problem occured," that it can't install-than a stupid box appears that says "you must install amstgrd
or something like that-than my computer-when I try to find it in files or whatever-that I have to put in the disk with that controller or whatever that is, in order to get hardware installed-how do I know which disk has that on it-the disks that came with the laptop-Aspire 3000- Windows home- don't say what's on them.
I had someone start up and load the laptop when I bought it-so I don't know much about such things-I would like to have sound back-without, also the annoying messages I get each time I start the computer, as I stated above-thanks-also could the answers be detailed, as in the past, the answers were too general-I am newer at computers and such things as drivers and hardware

OK you can left click my computer then right click on properties click on the device manager tab , you will see the device with a yellow question mark , double click it and select reinstall driver then a wizard will appear and you would click next select the first option and click next now is very important for you to select the option that says CD ROM that one only when you have selected this option insert the disk that came with your PC and click next now let windows load your drivers and click Finnish you must reboot your PC and the sound will appear again, that will take care of your problems.
enjoy

you are welcome.
