If your decent at playing I would try to learn Orion and also Call of the Ktulu by Metallica. Both are for the most part solo's.

If you like messing with effects (and have the means to do so) then I would suggest anything by Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave).

and if you feel up to it just listen to some Frank Zappa or Yngwie Malmsteen and try to play along.

Jeff Beck - "Cause We Ended As Lovers"
Santana - "Europa (Earth's Cry, Heaven's Smile)"
Yes - "Soundchaser"
Al DiMeola - "Morning Tango"

Mahavishnu Orchestra - "Birds Of Fire"
Jimi Hendrix - "Voodoo Chile (Slight Return)"
Pink Floyd - "Money" (it's way harder than it seems)

Check out some Pearl Jam (their lead guitarist is awesome, seen him live), or Tom Morello (RATM, Audioslave). Morello is awesome, such a funky, unique sound!
