How can they live in a city like Los Angeles and not have a clue that this is not fashion? Pink shirts and black pants, gold chains, plaid shirts unbuttoned at the bottom, etc.

Style is dictated by the community a person lives in. There are people in Europe who look at Americans and say "How can they not realize this is not fashion?" If how they are dressed is the status quo in their community, than they are in fashion, much the same as Muslim women wear head scarves and in Indian communities, they wear saris and turbans.

LA is Hollywood or Hollywierd. And there is alittle something of everything in LA.. Fashion , fashion is anything that the clothing manufactures have convinced the public is the in thing no matter how stupid it might look. I wear what I like and whats comfortable to me and leave the looking stupid part to those who have to be in fashion. Mustaches will never be out even tho they cant be considered fashion since they are not clothes. They could be considered a style tho. Men look manly with a nice soft well trimmed mustache and with a bare face they look to girlie. Of course not every girl thinks the same way but this here girl does love a man to look like a man. Now I dont like those big ole bushy mustaches, now those are gross.. Have you ever been to Frisco? Now if you think some people dress strange in LA thats nothing compared to Frisco. You know San Francisco. And I would think that people would be sportin the gold chains more in New York although I could be wrong, Men use mustaches all over the world not just in LA. . I think you have seen one to many movies about cholos or homeboys because they dont wear the plaid shirts any more. Not since the 80's and the only ones who wear boots are the border brothers when they dress up to go to the bars and then the white boys who think that they are cowboys and have never ridden a horse. People shouldnt worry about what other people are wearing anyway since they are the ones wearing it not you. Look at all the problems it causes. Kids having to have 200 dlls tennis. Look at the people in the jungles that dont wear anything . THey dont have any of those problems.

"Fashion" is slavery. The residents of East Los Angeles (for example) are doing what THEY feel good doing, not what someone else tells them they should feel good doing. You, however, must be a "hip" person, enslaved by "popular culture" to the point you can't help but try and be one step "ahead" of it.

One day we will liberate you, but right now there are more pressing things...
