Getting ready for work. I switched on the TV for the weather report and saw the first tower burning instead. I thought it was a freak accident at first, but then the second plane hit right there on live TV. Then I went to work.
By the time I got to work, the other plane had hit the Pentagon. Since I worked in Washington, DC, I could see the smoke rising from across the river. We crowded around the TV in the conference room and saw the towers fall.
I went back to my desk and pretended to work for a bit. Then I looked out the window and the streets were jammed as far as I could see with cars heading out of the city, but they weren't moving. It felt more like a movie than real life, but it was real life, which made it feel that much stranger.

I went to work at an office. Just as the day began, I heard someone say a plane hit the WTC. I saw an image over the internet and at first I thought it was just a freak accident by a small plane and didn't realize how serious it was. Within 30 minutes, the company sent all the employees home and closed for the day. It was then I realized the full impact of what had happened.
God Bless all those poor souls who lost their lives that day and all who still suffer today.

My clock radio woke me up. The first thing I heard that morning was that a plane hit one of the towers of the WTC.
I got up right away and turned on CNN while the family was getting ready for the day, oblivious to what was unfolding. Within minutes of watching the coverage, I, like many, saw the second plane hit the second tower LIVE. I could not belive my eyes.
I had been there many times and the company I worked for at the time was right across the street. I was supposed to fly to NYC that morning but got out of going by chance.

I was at a funeral, and the sad thing is, I was more upset about what was going on than I was the deceased. We were in NJ, but you could look over and see massive amounts of smoke.
The ride home was a nightmare, traffic like you wouldn't believe. I just wanted to get home to my kids.
The rest of the day I watched CNN, (and for many months after that), anticipating the worst.
Such a sad, scary day, and I remember it vividly.

I was getting some gas when I heard it on the radio that the first Tower had been hit. The gas station clerk and I discussed it, we both thought it had to be terrorism and that we would be running out of the second tower if we were in it. I guess we were right.

Riding home on the bus from school on Ramstein AB, Germany. I got into my house and watched tower two get hit. I watched the news for hours and most of the next day. We got the next two days off from school.
