It's all the same, Rihanna, Chris Brown, Ne-Yo.. they all sound the same...like crap.

Yet the radio won't play anything else. I remember when music was good.

yes it is. pop, hip hop, rnb, and rap, all that is crap. hard rock, *** kickin alternative, metal, not the[arrrrrrrr growling crap] country and bluegrass, now those are music catagories, yes MUSIC. they actually have instruments in them, not garbage machines.[drum machines and scratching records] how ignorant is that. You need to find some better radio statons to listen to, have you ever tried internet radio, winamp has alot of awsome stations to choose from. even yahoo launchcast has some good ones, ive been listing 1970's softrock here lately on launchcast, takes me back to when i was a kid.

"Pop" music is simply popular music.
Rihanna, Chris Brown, Ne-Yo.. that would be R & B.
so the question should be
Is R & B music for the simple minded?
the answer is still no, they are just a small grouping. It's like saying all Rock sucks just because of Poision and Nelson. Big hits, but man do they stink!

Nope... Country music is for the simple minded. The only people that listen to that crap are hicks and middle agers!

Rock is the music of the new millenium. Green Day, Fallout Boy, 3 doors down. The radio is doing just fine, thank you.

i'm not a rustic expert, yet i think of u . s . a . or u . s . a .-tinged songs have continually got here across their thank you to the pop charts. merely that from my reminiscence, we began seeing a bizarro, bypass-over of rock/pop & u . s . a . in a extensive way for the time of the 90s while Garth Brooks became huge. looked as though it would proceed to exist that wave ever considering that. edit* nicely, guy- 2 issues: the excellent ingredient with regard to the previous stuff- it will continually be there to fall back on once you pick em. & i don't understand how plenty digging for brand spanking new music you do, yet there're fairly some new, youthful bands that're taking cues & concept from the classic rockers. in case you have not already, you *have* to take heed to the respond & Earl Greyhound.

It's not for the simple-minded, but the ignorant (unless all ignorant people are simple-minded). People just don't bother listening to new music unless it's handed to them, and radio only plays pop music.

For everyone here that just loves bands like Panic! at the Disco and Fallout Boy and Green Day, try listening to something original. Try Takk by Sigur Ros or Yanqui U.X.O. by Godspeed You! Black Emperor.

I hear ya, bro. The thing that kills me is "Idol". No one's breaking new musical ground, so we're making our own heros by pushing buttons for them on a cell phone. Sad.

All Pro-Tooled samey stuff out now.

Forget relying on mainstream radio for good stuff. Go by college radio, word of mouth via friends, the 'Net, & magazines.

I agree, most of the modern day stuff in ANY genre isn't as good as it used to be. But yet the radio stations promote those only because they are the new tracks. It would be hard for a radio station to play older music over and over again (though those songs were better) unless it was oldies.
